McKinney said the suspect was caring for cattle that belonged to two ranchers from the Oklahoma City, Okla. area. Masey allegedly stole a total of 90 head of cattle in small numbers between Sept. 2015 and June 2016 and sold them at livestock markets in Overbook, Okla. and Waurika, Okla. The suspect was released on a $20,000 bond.

“This case provides an example of how important it is to know who you are doing business with,” said McKinney. “Cattle thieves often take advantage of others because they think they can get away with it. This was not the case for this suspect. I appreciate Sgt. Harp and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office for working with me to arrest another cattle thief.”

TSCRA would also like to thank Sgt. Harp and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during this investigation.
